Collection: All Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy, known in the research literature as photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of visible red and invisible near-infrared light to interact with cells. For years it was confined to clinics, physiotherapy practices and professional sports facilities. The Welzo LUMENPRO range brings professional-grade output into the home. This collection gathers every red light therapy device Welzo makes, from full-body blankets to the Lumina mask and wand set, so you can compare formats, LED counts and configurations in one place.

How red and near-infrared light work

Light at particular wavelengths is absorbed by chromophores inside cells, most notably cytochrome c oxidase, an enzyme in the mitochondrial electron transport chain. That absorption is the proposed mechanism behind the effects studied in photobiomodulation research: increased ATP production, improved circulation through nitric oxide release, and modulation of inflammatory signaling. The two wavelengths LUMENPRO uses are the most researched. 660nm red light is absorbed primarily in the skin and superficial tissue, where it is studied for collagen production, skin appearance and surface recovery. 850nm near-infrared light penetrates deeper, reaching muscle, joint and connective tissue, where it is studied for recovery, circulation and soreness. LUMENPRO devices emit both simultaneously so that each session addresses surface and deep tissue together. For the deeper wavelength specifically, see Near-Infrared Light Therapy.

Devices in this collection

  • LUMENPRO Full-Body Red Light Therapy Blanket: the original wrap-around blanket, in Single Sided and Pro Double Sided configurations, delivering 660nm and 850nm light from shoulders to feet.
  • LUMENPRO Elite+ Full-Body Blanket (High-Density LED System): thousands of additional diodes compared with standard models for more uniform coverage and shorter sessions, available up to a full double-mat Elite configuration.
  • LUMENPRO Version 3.0: the latest generation, with higher irradiance, upgraded matte materials and LED chip counts from 4,320 in the Single configuration to 8,610 in the Elite V.3 double-sided mat.
  • Lumina Red Light Therapy Biohacker Set: a complete light therapy ecosystem combining a full-body blanket with an LED face mask and a precision wand for targeted spot treatment.

Comparing red light therapy devices

The variables that matter are LED count, irradiance (light power delivered per unit area), coverage and flexibility. More LEDs and higher irradiance mean more uniform exposure and shorter sessions. Single-sided blankets treat the front or back in one session; double-sided and Elite models surround the body for simultaneous coverage. The Lumina set adds targeted tools for the face and specific joints. For most customers the choice comes down to session length, whole-body immersion versus targeted treatment, and budget. Our Full-Body Red Light Therapy and Red Light Therapy Blankets collections narrow the comparison.

Who uses LUMENPRO

Athletes and active people use full-body sessions for recovery between training; see Sports Performance & Muscle Recovery. Customers focused on skin use 660nm red light for collagen and complexion; see Skin & Beauty. Longevity enthusiasts pair light therapy with NAD+ and mitochondrial supplements, because both approaches target the same cellular energy machinery. Sessions typically last ten to twenty minutes and fit into a morning or evening routine.

Why LUMENPRO by Welzo

Welzo is a UK-founded health company trusted by more than 200,000 customers and backed by over 27,000 five-star reviews across the Welzo platform. LUMENPRO devices are designed around clinically relevant wavelengths, high-density LED arrays and flexible, cool-running materials built for daily use at home. Every device folds for storage, plugs into a standard outlet and requires no setup beyond unrolling it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between red light and near-infrared light?

Red light (660nm) is visible and absorbed in the skin and superficial tissue. Near-infrared (850nm) is invisible and penetrates deeper to muscle and joints. LUMENPRO devices emit both.

How often should I use red light therapy?

Most research protocols use sessions of ten to twenty minutes, three to seven times per week. Consistency over weeks matters more than any single session.

Is a blanket better than a panel?

A blanket treats the whole body simultaneously, which is more time-efficient and gives more consistent coverage than repositioning in front of a panel.
